PriceVet Privacy Policy Last updated: March 2026 Short version: PriceVet does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All your API keys and settings stay on your device.

What PriceVet Does PriceVet is a Chrome extension that helps buyers compare prices on Facebook Marketplace by searching TradeMe and eBay AU for similar listings. It runs entirely within your browser.
Data We Do NOT Collect • We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers • We do not track which listings you view or search • We do not store your browsing history • We do not send any data to PriceVet servers (we have none) • We do not use analytics or tracking tools • We do not display advertisements
Data Stored Locally on Your Device PriceVet stores the following data locally in your browser’s storage (chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local): • TradeMe API credentials — Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, OAuth Token, OAuth Token Secret (entered by you) • eBay App ID — entered by you • Settings — Sandbox mode toggle, debug mode preference This data never leaves your device and is only used to make API requests to TradeMe and eBay on your behalf.
Third-Party Services When you use PriceVet, your browser makes direct requests to: • TradeMe API (api.trademe.co.nz) — to search for similar listings. Subject to TradeMe’s Privacy Policy. • eBay Finding API (svcs.ebay.com) — to search eBay AU listings. Subject to eBay’s Privacy Policy. • Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.app) — for AUD/NZD exchange rates. No personal data is sent. • Facebook — PriceVet reads listing data from the Facebook Marketplace page you are currently viewing. PriceVet does not log in to Facebook on your behalf or access your Facebook account data beyond the currently displayed listing.
Permissions Explained • sidePanel — to display the PriceVet results panel alongside Facebook Marketplace • storage — to save your API keys locally on your device • scripting — to read listing data from the current Facebook Marketplace page • tabs — to detect when you navigate to a Marketplace listing • declarativeNetRequest — for network request handling
Children’s Privacy PriceVet is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
